Established in 2010 as a private sector self-financing engineering college affiliated to Kerala Technological University. The institute has the approval of AICTE and Government of Kerala. Scholarships are available for meritorious students. Inorder to prepare students with industry-related skills, the college actively undertakes value added programs in partnership with MOU’s of IBM and ASAP. Students are encouraged to be part of various clubs to gain supplementary knowledge in their chosen field of interest.

Al-Azhar has a well established sports community with several wins in University and state level competitions. The large ground provided by Al-Azhar is ideal for football, volleyball and cricket. An indoor badminton court is also present within the campus.
